Automatic restart after Update in Windows 8, prevent
- Press on the Desktop view first, the key combination [Windows]+[R]before "regedit" and click "OK".
- Now navigate to the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHI NE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\WindowsUpdate\AU". If the last subkey does not exist yet, create it with the "edit | New | key".
- Then click in the right pane, open the command "edit | New | DWORD value, type in the name of "NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOn Users", and then press Enter.
- By double-click to open the new entry to edit, set its value to "1" and confirm with "OK". Then close the Registry and restart the System. Be sure, but still, a recommended reboot, if possible, in a timely manner in order to minimize security risks.
